THE ROUTES OF THE STAGES IN VALTELLINA
After the 2023 break, the race that made the big names in cycling famous returns with three days in Alta Valtellina.
Everything will begin on Sunday 19 May, with the arrival in Livigno. Stage 15 will be the longest and most challenging, with 220 km of route and 5200 meters of altitude difference.
Consider that the official website of the Giro d’Italia even assigned it 5 stars of difficulty (the highest level!).
Here the race returns after many years with an unprecedented finish at the Mottolino ski resort. A 220 km stage that will start from Manerba del Garda and pass through Switzerland and the Forcola Pass then finishes at the area known as the “Little Tibet”.
On Monday 20th the riders have a day of rest day, which for enthusiasts is ideal for visiting the “Magnifica Terra” and cycling in company excited by the magical atmosphere that the Giro d’Italia always brings , all while waiting for the day of the “Cima Coppi”. Tuesday 21 May will be an uphill start for everyone because the stage will take the riders from Livigno to Santa Cristina Val Gardena including the climb of the Stelvio from the Bormio side. This is where the athletes will reach the highest point of the race, before saying goodbye to Valtellina.
