Winter Time in Bormio

Bormio with its 60 km. of ski slopes and the opportunity to ski all year round thanks to its proximity to Stelvio, grants winter sports enthusiasts a season which lasts for twelve months. Ski-touring and cross-country ski enthusiasts can enjoy the challenge of the ascents or on the international Nordic ski tracks at Santa Caterina and Isolaccia.

But Bormio is not only about skiing!!!

There are many exhibitions organised in Bormio and in the surrounding areas throughout the year. The “PASQUALI” deserves special mention. Preparation for Pasquali begins in the middle of winter. This involves the building of themed floats based on religious subjects which on Easter Sunday, young people in traditional costumes, carry on their shoulders, parading through the streets of the town.

Bormio, rich in history and tradition, preserves an interesting historic centre and offers tourists a fascinating journey into the past. Since ancient times, Bormio has been well known for its thermal spas which gurgle at a temperature between 36° and 43°. It is possible to combine the pleasure of a holiday with the care of your body.

The new thermal spa centre Bormio Terme is a modern avant-garde building and specialises in thermal care. The Bagni di Bormio Spa Resort, an architectural jewel in a modern style, has recently been renovated, offering a refined and exclusive service. For golf enthusiasts, Bormio has a recently built 9-hole golf course, difficult enough to challenge expert players yet also enjoyable for beginners. In the Magnifica Terra you can also find the Ice Stadium with its skating rink, a national meeting point for speed ice-skating.
